Great Gifts for Everyone: The Guide

I was going to blog about something else entirely today, but wanted to do this before the holiday season completely passes. I know it's likely too late to order some of these items, but I think it would be a great idea for any occasion. I'm treating this as the 2020 wrap-up for my favorite products. Some of these items were gifted to me in a collaboration, but all of them are genuine recommendations and I receive no commissions.

Pura: a smart fragrance diffuser that connects to an app on your phone.

So, I love having a nice smelling home, but I had given up on Bath & Body Works wallflowers. I had way too many just stop warming up to diffuse after a month or two. Pura is a diffuser that offers luxury fragrance oils, think: capri blue volcano (what an Anthropologie store smells like). The device can hold two fragrance oils at a time so you can switch up what your room smells like from the touch of an app. The app also allows you to select what color you would like it to glow, if you'd like a nightlight. The app works similar to the Nest thermostat app in that you can let it use your location to turn off the device if you're not home. Device: $44

Purple: Don't sleep on prioritizing rest as the ultimate Christmas gift. Their mattresses, pillows, and sheets would delight anyone.

I was so fortunate to work with Purple this year as a partner. I couldn't believe it when they sent me a mattress, pillows, duvet, and sheets. I absolutely can speak to genuinely loving the mattress and I think that old school spring mattresses are a thing of the past. Purple uses breathable gel grid to cradle pressure points like hips and shoulders while keeping the rest of your body fully aligned. But a more realistic gift? Probably the pillows and sheets. Both of which I'll never live without again. I have the Purple Harmony Pillows, which uses Purple grid hex instead of stuffing/feathers/etc. I'm pretty sure it's what laying on a cloud feels like. Somehow it's super supportive, but also really squishy and bouncy. I also have the Purple SoftStretch Sheets, which are like sleeping inside the softest, stretchiest yoga pants. Who knew that stretchy sheets make all the difference?

Queen SoftStretch Sheets: $149

Harmony Pillow: $159

Massage Gun: Everyone has kinks to work out.

This would have been so excellent to have when I was a runner, but it's great for anyone. I recently started up my cycling routine with Peloton again and I've been sore from the heavy resistance. When I get off the bike, I try to use my massage gun on my thighs (front and back, don't know the muscle name. Quads?) for a couple of minutes. I've noticed a huge difference and let's be real... it just feels good. I have the Vybe Massage Gun that came with two rechargeable batteries and 3 attachments: one for large muscle groups, small muscle groups, and deep tissue. Right now it's available for $100 after $50 coupon on Amazon.

Ruggable: A washable rug that is actually washable.

A lot of my floors are wood laminate which is good because of all my dogs, but it's nice to have the feeling of carpet every once in awhile. I knew that Ruggable rugs are washable, but my dilemma has always been HOW though? My ruggable rug is HUGE at 9 x 12 (probably a little too big for my room tbh) so I really didn't think it would fit in my average sized washer. I finally tried and it worked just fine. The rugs are thin, so this is likely why it was able to fit. I feel so much better now knowing I can actually wash it regularly. Pets or not, who wouldn't want an easy to care for rug to liven up a room?

Evapolar: A portable air conditioner.

I live in Florida and I live alone, so my utility bills can be pretty ridiculous. I hate how much it costs to cool a 997 sq. ft condo for one person. Enter the evapolar evaChill evaporative cooler. It uses a fan to draw in air that passes over water moistened pads, which cools the air. It plugs into any USB port and is super easy to move around. It helps me feel cool in whatever room I'm in without me having to keep my thermostat so low. I also like taking it outside with me on my lanai because it gets the air moving and cooling in a space where I don't have any fans.

evaChill: $99

Beachwaver: easier curls for the girls.

Okay, so this gift doesn't apply to everyone. Likely just girls. Or anyone with hair long enough to curl. I'll admit I'm still learning to use mine. It was a Black Friday purchase and I've never been good with curling irons that have the clamps. I always get the crease in my hair from the clamp. If you have any tricks to avoid that, let me know. But I know that's just my user error and it doesn't happen to every strand I do. The Beachwaver is truly such a time saver and so much more comfortable to use than a curling wand or curling iron. I have long, thick hair that would take me an hour to do with a standard curling wand. With the beach waver, I can do my whole head in 25 minutes. Not to mention how much happier my arms are because I don't have to manually twist each section. If you're not familiar with Beachwaver, it's an automatic rotating curling iron. You can choose which direction you want it to twist too, so your curls have more dimension if you mix it up. I've wanted one for a long time and I'm glad I finally treated myself.

Beachwaver Pro 1.25 Dual Voltage: $199, but there are cheaper models (one is on sale for $75!)

Smart Bulb/Outlet: The thing I don't personally have, but need several and am asking Santa for.

I know these would make great gifts because I want them. I don't have any yet because buying lightbulbs and outlet adapters isn't fun or glamorous and I'm unemployed. My condo is old and the bedrooms have no overhead lighting. There's a light switch that supposedly controls power to one of the wall outlets, but I've never figured that one out. Smart outlet adapters and lightbulbs essentially allow you to connect them to an app on your phone and control them with your phone. I'm lazy and sometimes shutting something off from my phone is a lot easier than getting up to unplug it. I don't know anyone who wouldn't like the convenience of controlling something across the room from their phone. I've included some links to ones that have gotten great reviews.

Would you like to receive any of these gift ideas? Would you give them to anyone? Let me know!

xx Ashley
